Look forward to moments of pain in your life. In the night, recreate the situation in your mind. Disturbances mean something is wrong and if something is wrong, it’s about me. The mind will automatically focus on the other – it’s his fault, he shouldn’t have done it, etc. But bring the focus to yourself.
Let’s say you are angry at your father and husband at home, your boss and colleague at work. These four people bring about different intensities of anger in your reactions. With your husband it’s a 9 because he is around you every day. If you meet your father once every 2 or 3 years, the intensity of anger there will be lower. But if he starts living with you, the intensity will come back to 9 as it was in your childhood. 1. The body can adjust itself if the concept is strong enough. E.g. women and high heels, or bikers who ride for hours in what looks like uncomfortable positions (Pulsar – Eliminator failed because the brand did not reflect the biker culture that the physical stance represents)
2. We are limited in both space and time – that’s why we bicker over land, over relationships. We are stuck in petty fights over sq. feet. But look at the mountains – they are so huge. One stone that falls off will kill you. If you want to become big, look beyond the earth, even the planets. Then stop asking – What’s in it for me? We ask this all the time because our vision is limited. We are scared because we think we have to grab, otherwise it will pass us by and we will miss out. We constantly live in psychological fear. We can’t see more than a few moments away. If we transcend space and time, we won’t feel the urgency of time. E.g. If in a crowded train you want to grab an empty space, zoom out and say no to the urgency, of wanting to take possession of that small little space. But the way you are internally – has that changed? And you can understand time only through the external thing, right? So you say something has changed, I say something has passed. In a vacuum you will not be able to, because there is nothing else. Will you see that there are some things changing? You won’t, right? Learn to separate feeling and concept. The moment a feeling is felt, a concept gets attached to it. That concept comes in the way of the feeling and prevents action or, if the feeling is acted upon, it creates guilt – which is another concept. Either of these will happen. So when a feeling arises in the system, catch the concept that is coming up to resist it. Put the concept/s aside and just feel the feeling. The fortress of solitude is a metaphor for where one retreats to in one’s mind and takes stock of things at the end of the day.
2. People say they want to be get ‘better’/ be ‘just’ or ‘kind’. But you can’t ‘be’ something – your state of being has to transform for real change.

D: Sex. And what is actually happening inside us, what is our need. But what need do we project to ourselves? So that was what we were saying. Our projection seems real to us. The projection creates a sensation within our body which make us want sexual gratification. This looks and appears real to the system – that I need sexual gratification. And the sexual imagery starts in the mind. Sexual thoughts begin. So I start planning… I have no knowledge, I have no understanding of how the state changed. Why did these sexual thoughts start happening? I have no idea. But it happened. And it keeps on happening. And after some time, they disappear also. Meaning, my state changes. Listening to marketing jargon you’ll think, oh my status is this, so I have to travel by plane. Travelling in a plane is not a desire, it’s not luxury. That’s a need. Oh, I can’t travel in a taxi or train. Somebody else on a lower scale will say, oh, I can’t travel in a local train, I have to travel by car. That’s a need. Somebody on a still lower scale will say I can’t walk to work, I have to take the train. Somebody still lower will say I have to walk to work, I have no option. When in your school, class, home (sister) and society, when you see somebody and you compare inside, you say I can’t do this, I don’t measure up. There’s always a comparative analysis going on, always. But when did that begin in you? It didn’t begin now. It was already in you before you took birth. That is why you’ve taken birth like this. It’s not about societal conditioning, your mother, sister, your school etc. It is the way you are, from earlier times, before birth…
